TwelveTotems.org wish all who remember and observe an easy and meaningful fast and “G’mar Chatima Tovah” (“A good final sealing”) this Yom HaKippurim (“Day of Atonement”). Yom HaKippurim is a biblical holiday YAH commanded B’nei Israel to commemorate annually on the tenth day of the Seventh Month (10th of Ethanim), with a holy convocation and the affliction of the soul (Leviticus 23:26-32). This day is the most solemn day of the year. It is a fast day; all eating, drinking (including water) and sexual relations are forbidden during this 25-hour period. All manner of work is also forbidden. Yom HaKippurim is a day of prayer, reflection, confession of one’s sins and repentance before YAH, and the opportunity to beseech Him for a favorable verdict for the year. It is customary to wear white and refrain from wearing leather on this day
This year, Yom HaKippurim begins at sundown Tuesday, September 18, 2018, and ends sunset Wednesday, September 19, 2018. May you be sealed in the Book of Life for a good year!
